Bangkok - Day 2

Woke up at 8am Bangkok time and was deciding where to have our 1st breakfast in Bangkok. We did not buy any breakfast package from the hotel as for us, we booked online, so no breakfast included with such cheap price for the hotel room.

Since it's just the 2nd day in Bangkok and we're not familiar with it yet, so we ends up eating a buffet breakfast at the hotel. The food is not bad, normal western style and the price is not too expensive. It's only 177baht NETT summore...

After I've had my fill, I'm very very surprised when my boyboy eat this.........

He eat salad!!!!!!! Not much Thousand Island sauce but he eat vege!!!!!!

Well it's not that someone eating vege is very very surprised but when my boyboy eat vege.. I must definitely go buy lottery liao!!!!!! hahahahahahaha... Well all his life, he adi banned vege after the incident where he said he vomitted once when he ate vege when he was just a kid. So kinda like got a phobia on vege lar.. but if u say the vege comes together with a burger i.e. McChicken/Big Mac/KFC's coleslaw, he eat woh. Reason is bcuz those contains quite a number of mayonaise/sauces mar...

OK I'm way out of topic... so.... the 2nd day, we went to The Grand Palace by ourselves after much research from the Internet and much info from a fren... So off we went to take the BTS Skytrain from Victory Monument station (nearest to our hotel but we have to walk for about 20min to get there!!!! Imagine we sweat like a pig adi!!!) to Saphan Thaksin station.

From there, we took their errr... consider as boat lah... from Central Pier to Tha Chang.

After we aboard the boat, must camwhore mah!!! :D

During the journey, we've got about 20min in the boat for us to enjoy the views surrounding the Chao Phraya River.

Quite a number of high rise building around this area...

We both again camwhoring.. I look si beh happy hoh?? :D

This is the Shangri-La hotel boat. Looks damn special leh...

One of the temple surrounding this river...

The most expensive condo in Thailand. Costs about 1mil++ baht for a 1 room lot.

Another temple surrounding this river...

Wat Arun, The Temple of Dawn. The temple is most beautiful during dawn...

So after the 20min ride, off we head to the Grand Palace where both of us almost got lost in searching for the entrance!!! There is a lot of entrance to this Grand Palace but only 1 entrance you're allowed to go through. The others, if you did not do any survey, you'll get cheated from the tuk-tuk drivers. They'll say they're currently having dunno wat prayers, so it's close for the day. DON'T EVER BELIEVE THEM!!!

The Grand Palace are open from 8.30am till 1.30pm and from 2pm till 3.30pm. So thank god both of us did check out the info. If not, we'll get cheated for sure.

So after we bought our entrance ticket to Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, the 1st stop we went to is Wat Phra Kaew.

The entrance of the temple Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)

Can you see where I'm standing??

To tell the truth, I'm very very very VERY impressed with the Thai's handiwork. This temple is build with thousands and thousands of golds and also errrr... glass?? It seems that to build this temple alone, it took them about 25years to complete!!! The reason?? See for yourself..........

Beautiful isn't it?? Look closer.............

SEE!!! There's millions of tiny pieces of errr... glass I think which needs damn a lot of handwork lo!!

One of the stupa in the temple....

The miniature of Angkor Wat... For me, it's not mini loh...

One of the temple building in Wat Phra Kaew

The side view.....

Do you know what is this?????

The shiny-shiny yellow is REAL GOLD!!!

Really beautiful isn't it?? Did you know what it is yet???

The last 3 pictures above is actually drawings along the temple. It's an extremely long and big drawings that it need a lot of time to draw and paint and the drawing is so fine and beautiful and gorgeous!!! But you're not allowed to touch. Not that it's still wet or anything, it's just to avoid people from dirtying it. I would want to protect it if its me. So beautiful woh!!!

I like this. It's cute and its like a symbol of, there's a lot of protector protecting this building.

A closer look, EACH and EVERY "protectors" here are actually made of simen and glass!!! No wonder they're shining!!!

My boyboy following the rest of the people there, taking a lotus flower with "sing sui" and put on da head.... cute hoh!!!

This is the exit from the Wat Phra Kaew temple. We're not allowed to take pics when we're in there... too bad... But when I'm in there, I'm very impressed. Although the Emerald Buddha is sitting very very high above all the errrr..... "stuff" and the Emerald Buddha statue is very small, but the insides of it is impressive. There's a lot of drawings, statues of Gods and etc.

This tree looks special hoh?? Like in a cartoon!!!

Behind me is the Grand Palace building. We're not allowed to go in.........

Me imitating the cute tree behind... hehehehehe....

The Grand Palace...... and it's starting to rain!!!

While relaxing at the side walk, there's a bunch of soldier marching towards the Grand Palace.

This soldiers is actually going towards a hall where the King's late sister's body are being kept. She just passaway when we just arrived in Bangkok. Not right after lah, but maybe few days earlier?? Along the street or any part of Bangkok, you can see the King's late sister pictures are everywhere! The Thais pays respects to her by putting up her pics at a place and pray for her.

Lunch time!!! In front of me is the Pineapple Fried Rice with my fave Strawberry blended and my boyboy's Coconut blended drinks.

This restaurant is actually just next to the pier... So of coz must take pic lah!!

The VERY VERY YUMMY Mango Sticky Rice!!! The mango is as sweet as a sugar!!!

My Green Curry Chicken Rice. Tastes not so good compared to the 1 I ate at Day 1

Pandan Leaf Chicken. Taste good!!!

After lunch, we head to Wat Pho where it's just only 10min walk from the Grand Palace. Inside, we could snap as much pics as we want!!! So enjoy da pics!!!

The Reclining Buddha

There's upgrades needed, so thats why the black patches...

The Reclining Buddha's feet contains small small pics....

This is the clearer view of the pics... It's actually the pics of the "4 face God"....

Along the Reclining Buddha there's a "bowl" for you to donate some money to...

Outside, there's this small garden for you to sit and relax... I'm so hot that my face turns apple!!!

Look at this door, surrounding it is full of small pieces of glass!!!

This is....... errr......... I forgot... sorry....

So that's the last pic I took before the battery runs out. I have to zoom to the max as this buddha is quite small just like The Emerald Buddha and I have to wait till all the aunties and kids to move their ass off my camera view.

You imagine hoh, you were there squatting (they ask you to squat when you're in the temple) and damn obvious pointing your camera towards the buddha to snap a pic, all the aunties and kids PURPOSELY stand RIGHT IN FRONT of you and say "Ei boy ah, come we take pic together here lar.. come come..." -______________- Then they have to like take AGES just to take 1 bloody pic!!! OK I "loon 9" them... no choice mar... inside the temple, have to be errr... "suci" ge mar....

So after that, we went back to our hotel to rest a little before we head off to.... hmmmm.... oh Pratunam Market for our dinner and walk around the area.... No pics were taken as the battery "kong" for the day........
